WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
A core part of the Brand Marketing Operations team (which is charged with overseeing end-to-end Brand Marketing process in GC), Brand Planning helps shape and drive the company's growth agenda by leading the seasonal planning processes across GC marketing teams, aligning enterprise leadership to make our biggest opportunities a reality, and spearheading ground-breaking projects across Nike's diverse businesses. We are looking for a Brand Planning Director to lead this already well-established team, work with key leaders to develop Nike's long-term and seasonal plans, and to drive action against aligned Brand priorities. This role reports into the Senior Director of Brand Marketing Operations, GC.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in management/ brand/ innovation consultancies, creative agencies, or similar client-side roles; he or she should excel in driving complex, cross functional plans at a marketing and enterprise level, and have solid understanding of how a creative organization is run. This individual will play equal parts problem solver and doer, tackling the roles of a strategist, operator, influencer and scheduling specialist, while effectively navigating the structure of Nike. Building key partnerships, developing a strong point of view and gaining consensus across teams will be key success factors. In addition, having a rich history of successful project delivery while being confident with a constantly evolving landscape is a must for this role.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
As our Brand Planning Director, you will be responsible for shaping the future of Nike brand in GC together with the Brand Planning team, in partnership with cross-functional team leaders.
You will drive critical work across two key areas:
1. Driving the Offense: This role takes the lead for GC Marketing teams in the seasonal brand planning offense. It is responsible for a) shaping and driving cross-functional/ cross-construct alignment for the priorities of each season, b) ensuring clear decisions are landed across key moments in our enterprise planning process to enable our priorities to be resourced & implemented, and c) measuring and distilling our performance into critical insights that fuel continuous improvement.
2. Creating the Future: This role is also responsible for shaping the future vision of the GC Marketing offense, in partnership with the VP of GC Marketing, the Senior Director of GC Brand Marketing Operations, the GC Marketing leadership team, the GC Business Strategy team, as well as the Global Brand Planners. Finally, this role leads critical strategy initiatives (collaborating with different GC Strategy teams) that accelerates the effectiveness of our marketing offense.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
You will work with senior and peer level internal partners to cultivate collaboration, strategic alignment and integrated planning across all functions. You will have close partnership with Strategy teams across Nike GC, Project Management, Business Planning, Brand Management and other marketing functions, as well as finance, at the GC and Global levels. This is a high exposure role with frequent partnerships with senior/ executive leaders.

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE
- 8+ years of relevant experience in marketing / creative strategy, strategic consulting, business development, corporate strategy or related fields.
- Experience leading complex strategic projects and demonstrated success in leading a methodical process of analyzing problems, gathering information, generating options and then proposing and acting on a course of action.
- Proven success to pull together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussions, to drive critical processes and management routines.
- Mastery of business communication tools and verbal/ written communication to promote conceptual understanding and mobilize change through storytelling.
- Strategic enterprise thinking with experience supporting senior/ executive leaders
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
