DIR- GC - VALUE MARKETPLACE MERCHANDISING
The Merchant Director role is responsible for VALUE MARKETPLACE including: NVS, NIKE UNITE, and key digital moments (D11/618). The role partners with Gender Merchandising leaders, NDDC Merchandising, inline store merchandising and cross functional partners and MPU stakeholders to plan, build and trade a consumer right assortment while liquidating close out and keeps geo’s gender inventory healthy.

This role is responsible for building consumer right assortments for the VALUE MARKET PLACE leveraging historical data, analytics and real-time market feedback to inform the future (coming seasons) and is also responsible for liquidating close out from past seasons with right margin at right speed.
The candidate should possess solid retail acumen and analytical abilities and a solid understanding of retail environments starting with digital and inline store trade. They are comfortable overseeing and advising the work of individual contributors within a structured coaching framework, in addition to being a leader among their peers!
What You Will Work On
You will on-board the seasonal plans including product, pricing, flow and concept or initiative's intent. You will understand related aspects of the business and marketplace in making your plans, including coordinating between genders, brands (Nike & Jordan) and how individual products or collections affect each other.
You’ll build consumer-centric assortment plans with an understanding of the MPU position in the market, blending fact-based and intuitive inputs. You will participate in seasonal reviews, submits and trading for your respective area. This includes assortment building and working with partners to ensure profitable assortment. Merchandising Director may also lead projects across teams or topics.
You will balance multiple seasons of dynamic closeout inventory and planned future buy which comes from both rebuy and inline products (40%). You will manage your areas of assortment planning in depth during the seasonal process from Adopt to Buy phase (40%), and gather insights from and support optimal trading of in-market seasons (20%).

Who You Will Work With * Merchandising: Global Value Merch/ GC Consumer Construct Merch/NDDC+Merch/Store Merch * DSM: Retail Planning / Business Planning / Allocation / Inventory Management * Marketing: Retail Brand / Product Presentation / Store Marketing What You Bring · Requires Bachelor's Degree or additional 2 years' experience in lieu of degree · 8 years' experience in footwear or apparel merchandising, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand or digital environment · Footwear, Apparel, Equipment or relevant consumer product merchandising experience · Strong command of common retail and/or digital profit-based metrics such as sell-through, turn, ASP, UPT and others · Ability to contribute to and drive thinking into breakthrough strategies · Ability to demonstrate leadership among peer group, inclusive of coaching and mentoring of teammates.
