We are looking for an Asia Communications Manager that can embody this spirit while working under leadership of the Communications Director to drive consumer and corporate communications.

The Asia Communications Manager will support the creation and drive compelling and strategic stories and campaigns that map to key business drivers for the Asia Converse business. Work will focus on articulating product, brand and corporate stories that position Converse as a forward-thinking company redefining how today’s youth interacts with brands.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll be working with a highly motivated team across Communications and other business functions, at both the Geography and Global level.

As the Asia Communications Manager, you will partner with the Asia Communications Dir and key business stakeholders to develop and drive integrated communications programs across the Asia Geography and its key territories. You will establish and strengthen authentic connections with EXTERNAL audiences across Asia to advance the Converse narrative through clear, consistent, breakthrough brand, purpose and product storytelling.

A typical week might include conceptualizing and managing detailed project plans and timelines for campaigns, initiatives and events, including seasonal press previews, market appointments, and product launch events. It might include supporting the development of creative content that inspires and delivers innovation, while maintaining quality and consistency across all communications. Or it might include engaging with strategic culture, sneaker, fashion, lifestyle and business media and media influencers along with overseeing and optimizing the brand’s strategic editorial/influencer seeding program.

As the Asia Communications Manager, you will develop materials, messaging, strategies, FAQs, etc., to support related media outreach and storytelling. Equally, you will participate in the development of strategies, messages, plans and communications tools to successfully enhance Converse’s reputation in the areas of Sustainability, Community Impact, and Inclusivity.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Converse operates within a matrixed structure. You will directly report to the Asia Communications Director as a part of an Asia Communications Team.
As part of the Global Communications organization, you will engage and liase with your Global Communications counterparts at the Global level and across Converse’s other Geography teams (NA, WE, GPM).

As a member of the Asia Geography team, you will work closely with the other functional and territory leads, particularly Marketing, to both provide counsel and develop and execute strategic communications planning.

WHAT YOU BRING - Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, business or related field. - A minimum 8 years strong media relations, corporate communications or brand marketing experience. - Strategic and creative thinker with strong project, time and relationship management skills. - Strong base of media contacts and relationships with top-tier consumer, fashion and lifestyle media with a proven record of delivering high-impact placements. - Excellent communicator and collaborator with the ability to work cross functionally. - Understanding of the evolving media landscape, especially digital.
